Day 2: The Crumbles of your Memories

As I held the crumbles of your despair into my hands,  you slowly drifted away from me. Suddenly, we  were miles apart. The sea between us was boundless and the searing heat of the sun above me made my skin sizzle. The pain torments my flesh but nothing compares to the aching hole in my chest that ruptures every time I see your face. Your back was facing me as I extend my hand hoping to reach you. You finally made your last step away from me before you disappeared. The only fragment of your existence left to me is your memories gilded with the stars you recovered from your back. I collapsed on the hard, concrete ground, shrieking and hollering your name. What happened to our romance? The sweet, sweet melodies of love we shared?
